I am pleased that after discernment and collaboration with the Board of Trustees, I have been granted a sabbatical period beginning June 1 and lasting approximately 10 weeks. While I have reserved time for rest, I am also excited for several professional opportunities which include a week at a privately owned chapel in Portageville in Genesee Falls, New York, where I will spend a week in intense organ practice while also enjoying the “Grand Canyon of the East” and all it has to offer. I am also excited to return to Camp SAY as a staff member, a summer camp for young people who stutter, held in San Antonio. This time away will also allow time for planning for the coming program and calendar year.
Musical activities will be led by capable colleagues at the keyboard as well as visiting guest musicians during the months of June and July. I am grateful to Anne Dorsey for her direction of the choir in the month of June and Tatiana Wright for her leadership at the keyboard.
This is a significant yet vital investment by The Village Chapel, and I am grateful for the support of our Chapel’s leadership for the care and thought put into the decision to grant this sabbatical period.
