The Village Chapel Scholarship Program

The Village Chapel Scholarship Program - First New Scholarships Awarded The Village Chapel’s new Scholarship Program was approved by the Board of Trustees in 2022 and the first two scholarships were recently awarded to Hannah Smith and John Sebastian. Hannah, the daughter of Pastors Ashley and Vickie Smith, has enrolled at UNC Wilmington for the Fall semester, 2023. Nursery Worker Needed

We are seeking a reliable and caring individual to serve as a paid Nursery Worker during the Sunday worship services at 9:30am and 11:00am. This important role is perfect for someone who has a genuine love for children and views caring for them as a meaningful ministry. The ideal candidate will provide a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment for our youngest members. A background check is required. Services and Sunday School

The Family Service
Sundays 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

The Village Chapel Family Service, at 9:30 a.m. Sundays, includes Pastor Vickie Smith’s childrens’ sermon. Children are invited to gather on the Chancel steps to hear scripture-based stories, answer questions, share their thoughts, read from the Bible and close in prayer.

Hearing children lead the congregation in prayer always is a moving experience for their parents and fellow worshippers.

Sunday School For Children & Youth 9:45

Nursery to grade 12. Our Children’s and Youth Sunday School ministry begins in our 9:30 a.m. service then releases to small group bible studies and activities.

Children's Choir: Sundays During Fall and Spring Semesters

Children ages Kindergarten to 5th Grade participate in our weekly Children’s Choir led by Deb Holden. The Children perform at multiple services throughout the year as well as in the community.

Youth Group Ministry

Sunday Evenings

Our grades 6-12 youth meet Sunday afternoons 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. (except the first Sunday of every month) in Heritage Hall.

Rev. Vickie Smith leads our Chapel’s youth in Biblical studies, discipleship, followed by hang-out time and dinner.

Upcoming Activities and Events

Confirmation Class

Confirmation is a big step toward adulthood for youth. They will have the opportunity to learn the essentials of the Christian faith, particularly, how to articulate what they believe, and become responsible members of the church.
Confirmation is for offered to youth, beginning in middle school, who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. If you are interested in having your child attend confirmation, please contact Vickie Smith, 910-992-8309

American Heritage Girls & Trail Life USA

is an active part of TVC. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 5:45 p.m. Join us for our Fall Open House on Wednesday, August 12, at 6:00 p.m. in Heritage Hall to find out more. There are many opportunities to get involved or be an assistant with minimal time required. Volunteers are needed to make these ministries successful for the church and the community.
